WORCESTER, MA — Local marketing coordinator Jessica Chen, 29, opened her Hinge profile Tuesday morning to find a new section titled "Compatibility Warnings" that had apparently been populated overnight using sentiment analysis of her ex-boyfriend's product review history on Amazon.

The AI-generated warnings, which appeared between her "Two Truths and a Lie" and job description, included items such as "May leave dishes in sink based on partner's 1-star review of Cascade dishwasher pods" and "Probable Netflix password hoarder (see: multiple complaints about shared streaming account management)."

"I thought it was a joke until I realized these were all real fights we had," Chen told reporters while frantically deleting the section. "Apparently when Brad wrote that scathing review about our coffee maker taking 'way too long' and being 'impossible to clean,' the algorithm connected that to his Venmo payment descriptions where he complained about splitting the grocery bill."

Hinge spokesperson Amanda Walsh confirmed the feature was part of their new "Radical Transparency Initiative," which cross-references user data with publicly available review histories, social media sentiment analysis, and purchase patterns of former romantic partners. "We're simply surfacing the authentic compatibility insights that users deserve to know," Walsh explained. "If someone's ex-partner consistently rates kitchen appliances poorly while simultaneously Venmo-requesting them for 'coffee maker maintenance,' that suggests certain domestic partnership patterns."

Chen's profile warnings also included "Shows concerning loyalty to discontinued products" based on Brad's passionate defense of Google Glass in a 2019 Best Buy review, and "May have unrealistic expectations for smart home integration" derived from his Amazon complaints about their Alexa's inability to understand his morning routine.

"The worst part is, some of the warnings are actually helpful," Chen admitted. "Like the one about 'partner historically frustrated by subscription service proliferation.' Brad did leave me because I had too many streaming apps. Maybe I should thank the algorithm."

Chen reports she has received 47% fewer matches since the update, but notes that her conversation quality has improved significantly. "The guys who still swipe right are either really confident or haven't figured out how to read yet," she said.
